Join us for an exhilarating rowing adventure at the Ocean to City An Rás Mór in Cork, Ireland, from May 30th to June 1st, 2025! This race is a 15 nautical mile (28 km) challenge that takes participants from Crosshaven through Cork Harbour and up the River Lee to the heart of Cork City. With a mix of coastal and river rowing, it’s renowned for its scenic route and vibrant atmosphere, with boats of all shapes and sizes, from traditional currachs to modern racing shells.
The Clayton Hotel Cork City is a modern and stylish 4-star hotel situated along the River Lee, in the heart of Cork City. It offers spacious rooms with contemporary décor, excellent amenities, and stunning river views at the race's finish line, making it ideal for the Ocean to City event. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of Cork city’s shopping and entertainment hot spots.
- Transfers to and from Cork airport
- A seat in a swift single, double or coxed quad, depending on preference
- Two nights accomodation in the Clayton Hotel Cork City
- Dinner on Friday night, breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning
- A bus to the startline in Crosshaven, about a 30-minute drive
After picking you up from Cork Airport you can arrive and check in at the Clayton Hotel Cork City.
Dinner and Briefing: We’ll meet for a welcome dinner at the hotel, where you'll have the chance to meet the group and enjoy some great food. Following dinner, we’ll have a quick briefing about the Ocean to City race and what to expect on race day.
Race Day: After breakfast, we’ll gather in the hotel lobby to take a bus to the start line at Crosshaven.
Preparation: Upon arrival, we’ll unload the trailer and get the boats rigged and ready for the race.
Race Start: Launch the boats and be ready for the race start, which usually takes place around midday. The 28 km journey will take you through Cork Harbour and up the River Lee to the heart of Cork City.
Post-Race: After crossing the finish line, the trailer will be brought around for easy loading of the boats. The evening is yours to relax and explore Cork, with plenty of time to enjoy the city’s lively atmosphere.
Free Day: There are no fixed plans for Sunday, so you can explore Cork at your leisure, whether you want to relax in the city or embark on your next adventure, the day is yours to enjoy. head off whenever you like. We will be running transfers back to Cork airport.
