Begin your adventure at Balloch Slipway, a well-equipped launch point with nearby facilities. Row past Cameron House Marina and take in views of the luxury resort before heading towards Inchmurrin, the loch’s largest island. After a short break on its peaceful shores, continue north to Inchcailloch Island for a packed lunch.
The island’s small landing bay and walking trails provide an opportunity to stretch your legs before getting back on the water. In the afternoon, navigate between the sheltered waters of Inchtavannach and Inchmoan, spotting local wildlife along the way. Arrive in the picturesque village of Luss, where you can enjoy a well-earned meal and overnight stay.
Start your morning with breakfast in Luss before launching from the pier and rowing north past the impressive Arrochar Alps. The loch narrows at Tarbet, offering dramatic views of the surrounding mountains. Take a well-deserved lunch break at The Slanj Restaurant, just a short walk from the shore, where you can enjoy locally sourced dishes.
In the afternoon, row south along the eastern shore, passing rugged landscapes and peaceful bays. Consider a detour to Inversnaid to explore its waterfalls and quiet trails before making the final push towards Ardlui. Finish your tour at Ardlui Pier, a well-maintained harbour perfect for retrieving boats and celebrating your achievement.
